Crispy Skin Salmon Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 Filet Salmon Skin On (Wild or Farm Raised)
  • 2 Tbls Avocado Oil (High Heat Oil)
  • Salt and Pepper
  • Blackening Seasoning

Directions

  1. Prepare your salmon, make sure there are no remaining scales, use a fork the scrape all scales off skin.
  2. Score skin by cutting 1 or 2 parallel slits in skin but careful not to cut through filet. (This will help the skin not shrinking during cooking)
  3. Dry your salmon and then coat with a little oil, salt and pepper, and blackening seasoning on both sides
  4. Heat up a Cast Iron pan to Med-High heat
  5. Add avocado oil (You want enough oil to cover the skin)
  6. Once nice and hot add Salmon skin down. Cook for 6-7 min without moving
  7. Flip Salmon and cook for 1-2 more minutes depending on thickness (I like my salmon med rare)
  8. Remove to paper towel lined plate
  9. Serve and Enjoy!
